Sara Kuliliya Isherwood is a Chinese Australian playwright and performer. She graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 2001 with a degree in Theatre Studies (Drama). Since then, she has completed further studies and is a qualified educator/teacher, community workshop facilitator, mental health professional, art therapist and caterer.

She was born in a remote community in the Northern Territory called Willowra Station, and spent her formative years in remote areas of Australia. Her mother is Cantonese Chinese and came to Australia when she was three years old. Her father is Caucasian, originally from outside Melbourne.

Sara has worked as a remote area relief teacher, arts producer, stage manager, script writer, regional arts officer and grant writer. While taking a break from the Arts industry, Sara established a commercial market garden and Community Supported Agriculture farm program. She later initiated and coordinated an organic//biodynamic growers' co-operative in Atherton which still operates. Currently she runs a registered mobile catering business (food van) in addition to her work in Theatre and Mental Health Care.

Sara specialises in providing solutions and support for artists and people working in the Arts industry. As a practicing artist herself, living in regional Australia, Sara has first hand experience of the unique circumstances which may impact on artists and arts workers. Her significant and diverse work experience and skills sets enable Sara to provide a broad range of tailored services in this area, including individual and group facilitation, face to face and online services.

Sara continues to develop professionally and has an active arts practice. Her current project is Spirit Garden, an interactive theatre show based on her own family history and ancestors who were remote area market gardeners in North Queensland. As well as working on Spirit Garden, she is currently studying a Masters in Social Work.
